Cleaners wont verbs? Funiture shops wont elevate? Postmen wont deliver? Dustmen wont thieve? I bought a piano from a charity shop. A small modern one...

I bought a piano from a charity shop. A small modern one about 150Lbs in weightiness. I live on the ground floor with just one small step but would they heave it over?
"Sorry guv, Health and safety wont let us."
I say "How did you get it on the lorry"
"Never mind that, We aint going to lift it over that step."
They lost a 10 tip and It took me 1 minute to move it myself. Two men both bigger than me could'nt or would'nt lift up it, Has this country gone bone idle?
Health and Safety, Political correctness, etc. Britain have gone mad!! Hahahah! Sorry, but that's funny. Health and safety issues gone wacky I say!
It's the insurance companies that won't let them...

Without the correct equipment for the lift, if they seize injured they won't be able to claim any compensation - which means they'd be long residence sick with no-one to pay the mortgage...

Can't blame them really, but I must ask. What helpful of houses don't have a doorstep - surely they could've anticipated that one...
Answers:    i know its not funny but i had to titter at the heading this question came underneath (do it yourself) was that intentional?

seems contained by this day and age we may as well do it adjectives ourselves.
If it only took you a minute then
1)you are immaculately capable of doing it yourself
2)they are just stagnant
3)so are people that have to settle someone to lift a piano that only took them 1 min to move themself
Health and Safety - the perfect cop out for getting out of doing anything folk don't want to do. I'm adjectives for people being sensible and not putting themselves at risk, but we come across to have abandoned adjectives common sense - if you were a pensioner or disabled you would doubtless still be stuck near a Joanna on your doorstep. Nah! afraid not - they are doing what they are told to do by loony PC Brigade nonces.

Problem is - once they step over into your boundary - they aren't insured. It becomes your problem and if they had an misfortune - they would claim off you under the public liability portion of your policy - if you aren't insured - they get nothing.

Stupid I know but you can thank the Morons surrounded by control for this state of affairs
What a couple of dorks. Good story.

"Never mind that, We aint going to lift it over that step."

That got me cracking up

sorry you have to deal with these guys
Unbelievable, simply goes to show what a crazy world we are now living surrounded by!!

Like the old saying go, ˇ° if you want something done, do it yourselfˇ± ( if you can)
It's the way Britian have become, if you had offered them 20 up front, they would have done it.
