Can anyone suggest if solid wood flooring is more superior than laminated one? I was told the laminated floor can "bulge" if hose gets within. Much appreciated for some suggestions if it is not already answered before.
Answers: Laminate floors are far more superior to wood floors surrounded by many ways. Wood floors score easy, much more expensive, harder to do if you are doing it yourself. Laminate floors are thoroughly waterproof individual on the SURFACE. It is recommended that if installing in a giant moisture area to epoxy resin the seems. I, however, disagree beside this because if you glue the seem and would like to replace a board you are screwed and own to buy a whole up to date floor. Instead place a thin bead of silicon within the joint which will impermeable the seem and if you want to replace a board the silicon will in recent times pull apart.
Laminates hold an aluminum oxide coating on the surface so they are much more stronger than hard wood. I hold scratched the surfaces of many pieces of laminates near a nail and it will confer on a very totally light gash if it even leaves a scratch at adjectives. Laminate is fairly cheep, installing it yourself is no obligation at all. Does nouns a little hollow though but if you spend the extra money surrounded by getting a decent nouns you shouldn't have a problem. Laminate is a must if you hold pets with long toenails.
Also laminates can be installed over most existing flooring. Hardwood most of the time wishes to be over a wood subfloor unless going with engineered which can be glue down onto concrete. Like the person above me said that his son gone a wet towel down. If it be hard wood you would enjoy to resand/refinish it. With laminate you can just verbs up the boards and replace those few boards. Simple.
solid wood is much much more expensive, you can allways use laminate flooring for bathroom, thats totaly waterproof, it won't warp, shrink or bulge
