I have a split height that I want to re-architecture to a Frank Loyd Wright look-alike on the outside, but I'd need to pilfer a long pitched roof and make it look flat. Can you lately build a flat roof on top, how does it drain, how is it constructed? Thank-you
Answers: I would tear sour the old roof, shore up the rafter, and build your concept from there. Building a contemporary roof over an existing one will require more weight carriage supports, plus will leave some voids that own been exposed to the elements for as long as the house have existed. You can do what you say, but flat roofs own all sorts of problems over the years.
