I have in recent times moved into a new flat. There is a switch on the wall for the emersion boiler which you need to flick to find hot water. Unfortunately you own to switch it on about 45 minutes contained by advance to carry any hot water.. not accurate in the mornings! Is it possible to replace the switch beside some sort of timer and is it something I can do myself or do I need to go and get an electrician in?
Immersion
not
emersion
and please, catch an electrician in.
Yes you can. I live within a old cottage and we have a switch for our immersion, which is a pain contained by the b... and like you said it take ages to heat up.
You can procure special timers for immersion heaters that replaces the switch. We were lucky, because a friend, an electrician, suggested it and also changed it for us. It is such a releave not have to set the alarm an hour earlier every morning only just to get the dampen hot to have a shower.
Good luck!
Answers: Yes. did it myself within my old flat. You can buy the switches from any DIY store, next (with the mains off) nick off the infirm switch and fit the new one.
The control on mine be like the timer plugs you obtain with the circle on them that rotates, in attendance are probably better digital ones available now though! (am I showing my age? Pass the zimmer)
You do not require an electrician, you can breed minor changes short informing building control re certification. B&Q will deal in the immersion heater timers, as will electrical wholesalers. Just follow the simple instructions beside the water radiator circuit turned off.
