We have recessed can lighting in our house and would close to to replace one light with a ceiling lover. There is a light in the center of the room that is to say the only light on the switch. Can I repalce this beside a ceiling fan and will the wiring be duplicate?
Answers:    First question - what is the diameter for the fixture that you are removing ?
1) Fixture boxes are usually 4" round or octagon.
2) If I remember correctly - circular recessed lights can be 6", 8" or 9" in diameter and own a light sheet metal box mounted on the side for the wiring.
3) You will inevitability a junction box (labeled "Fan Duty") to support the fan. Most home centers enjoy these in several types of kits.
a) Plain enthusiast duty box.
b) Box with support brace of different type of bars, side mounts and hardware.
c) Each one have the instructions on the package.
Good Luck ! ! !
THE WIRING WOULD MOST LIKELY BE THE SAME.THE ONLY PROBLEM IS YOU WOULD HAVE TO USE A FAN RATED BOX FOR IN THE CEILING TO SUPPORT A FAN.IF THERE IS JUST AN OPENING WITH NO BOX YOU WILL NEED AN OLD WORK FAN/ FIXTURE SUPPORT BOX WITH ARMS THAT WILL CATCH BETWEEN THE JOISTS.YOU CAN PURCHASE ONE FROM AN ELECTRICAL SUPPLY COMPANY.
