I wanna keep the flies and mosquitoes away when I am outside.
Any homemade type things I can use?
Yes you can, ordinary household products can be use, check out the guide... In a spray bottle use half pinesol(or pine malodorous cleaner) and half water. Spray around, but avoid flowers and annuals because of the chemicals
I received this as an email and thought that I would try it...works devout.

Subject: Mosquito Spray... Worth a try

I can't wait to try this in the summer!

I be at a deck party awhile back, and the bugs be having a ball biting everyone. A man at the group sprayed the lawn and deck floor with Listerine, and the little demons disappeared. The subsequent year I filled a 4-ounce spray bottle and used it around my seat whenever I saw mosquitoes. And voila! That worked as okay. It worked at a picnic where we sprayed the area around the food table, the children's swing nouns, and the standing water nearby. During the summer, I don't quit home without it..Pass it on.

OUR FRIEND'S COMMENTS: I tried this on my deck and around all of my doors. It works - surrounded by fact, it killed them instantly. I bought my bottle from Target and it cost me $1.89. It really doesn't clutch much, and it is a big bottle, too; so it is not as expensive to use as the can of Bug-spray you buy that doesn't last 30 minutes. So, try this, please. It will last a couple of days. Don't spray directly on a wood door (like your front door), but spray around the frame. Spray around the windowpane frames, and even inside the dog house.
Answers:    You can make your own insect repellent sprays by combining rubbing alcohol (or witch hazel, vodka, or olive oil) next to one of the listed essential oils [Clove grease, citronella (rose geranium), Lemon grass, eucalyptus, castor oil, peppermint, tea tree oil, lavender, or cedar](about 10-to-1, alcohol-to-oil ratio). Shake ably before each use.
citrus body spray!! it ttly works (especially grapefruit) and it smells perfect!
