A while back I bought a soft pine diningroom table not realize just how soft it be. Any little thing will dent it. I'm tired of covering it up near a table cloth. Is there anything I can spray or put on that can trademark it at least somewhat harder?
Answers: Several coats of Poly-Urethane will label the surface a bit harder, that's about as tough a surface you can brush-on. I guess the salesman forgot to give an account you that pine is the softest wood species they make furniture out of (that's why it is so much cheaper).
A band of hard wood glue (the end result is call a laminate) to the top of your soft table.
