Can I take the existing electric wiring that presently goes to a fluorescent lighting fixture, disconnect it, and run it down inside a wall to create a wall outlet for plug ins? If so, do I need a crossroads box? How many? How do I extend the line to make it long adequate to do this?
Answers: It can be done. But it is not a job for a do it yourselfer. All splices and connections enjoy to be made inside boxes. The boxes need to be accessible. The chain to the light fixture is probably switched. So your outlet would be also. Why not only just add a receptacle outlet and electrics the proper way?
You hold to put the switch in stripe with the standard lamp. Best to leave it to a pro.
