No. You can run it up to the edge of the can but not over it. Your local code may allow it but it still runs the risk of fire.


Although the lamp itself produces outstandingly little heat the sector of the lamp that houses the starting gear typically runs fairly heat.

I personally would not risk covering them next to insulation
