We bought a house that has two trees down and they are very dried. I asked the previous owners when they have been cut, and they said a year or so ago.
These trees are about 24" diameter.
Could I use a fasten saw to cut them down into pieces that I can split for firewood?
Thar jes aint much a chainsaw won't cut my little chickadee!! yes . but some timber becomes hard when aged approaching rock. so be be careful
You can cut seasoned wood well satisfactory with a chainsaw.
Be very measured though. - Pre-plan & manage
the job closely. A 24" trunk is a highly heavy object,
and at some point surrounded by your cutting it up, you know it's
going to shift. Don't be there when it does.
Answers: Yes it will. I recommend you make sure the chain is well brought-up and sharp.I burn firewood to heat my home with and I will nose-dive trees in the fall of one year and cut to blocks for burning the subsequent. This alows for drying and makes the blocks lighter for handleing.
Saw will cut it ok,but probably slower than if green. absolutely-beats a hand saw any light of day
Will be for a while harder but a chain saw will cut it. Keep the wood off the ground and beside a cover on top. The good firewood you make will income to sharpen the chain, etc. Dry wood will dull the chain faster, but a chainsaw have no problem cutting dry wood.
