Building walls for the crypt using studs? I finished studding for one of the walls in the crypt but...

I finished studding for one of the walls in the crypt but I did not put any poly/nylon under the bottom stud (between the stud and the concrete floor). Is this a problem contained by terms of humidity etc.? Do I requirement to redo the wall which is a big operation for me.

P.S. I live in Ontario

Thanks.
Answers:    I would of late go ahead and run a stamp bead along both sides of the studding and the floor with silicone caulk. It will bear a lot of humidity and hose for the wood to finally decide to emasculate anyway. If this is new concrete construction, you would own more moisture drifting to the top of the concrete, but in an existing subterranean vault I doubt you will have problems if you trademark it up. Sealing is more for not allowing moisture to get underneath from outside the sill plate or plinth than to keep if from leaching up from the underside, but it is other better to be safe from vault water issues.

RE the previous answer, when we put up buildings on concrete basis, we do use a foam layer between the sill plate and the concrete. The foam allows moisture a release rank. However, i still believe that if this is on existing concrete that has be in place pretty a while. you will not have a problem.
IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO USE A SILL GASKET UNDER THE SILL PLATE THE REASON IS THAT CONCRETE IS CONTINUALLY DRAWING MOISTURE IN AND THE WOOD SILL PLATE ABSORBS THAT MOISTURE CAUSING IT TO ROT OVERTIME. MANY HOME OWNERS DO NOT REALIZE THIS AND PLACE WALLS DIRECTLY ON THE CONCRETE. ITS NOT A SEVERELY MAJOR ISSUE BUT I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND REDOING IT NOW. ITS MUCH EASIER NOW THAN LATER ONCE THE BASEMENT IS FINISHED. MIKE HOLMES WOULD NOT APPROVE OF IT
