Band Saw Blade Problems? I recently bought the Ryobi BS902 9" Band Saw as a starter...

I recently bought the Ryobi BS902 9" Band Saw as a starter saw for me. I notice when I first started using it that as I pushed the piece of wood through, the blade itself began to curve rotten of the straight line I have drawn. I know that it was not me making it curve, because I have the wood sliding along the fence, so I am wondering if this have happened to other populace and what I can do so that this wont happen again. Thanks.

Check the blade rigidity, make sre it is not too loose.
Make sure the blade guide is close to the work piece.
Don't force the wood to quickly, go slow you will draw from a cleaner cut.
Answers:    Blade tautness needs to be tighter, AND you may have need of to adjust the blade guides.
Here's a link showing some guides to present you an idea of what Im discussion about - http://www.woodcraft.com/InhancedImage.a...

Those guide blocks should allow the blade to slip thru them, but not allow it to verbs. A wider blade will help considerably too.. make for a stiffer band bringing up the rear the teeth (if youre currently using a 1/4", try going to 1/2" if you see a lot of twist). Oh, those guide blocks should be right down close to your stock too... I similar to to keep mine at smaller quantity than an inch from the stock surface, the closer the better.

The other things to consider are teeth per inch, and the stock material (what youre in truth cutting). In a manufacturing production environment, we even get hold of down to the tooth angle, hook and set...changing those as needed for different kind of stock. The more teeth per inch youre using, the smoother the cut will be...if you don't need a smooth cut, after by all routine use a blade with a smaller amount teeth, and a more aggressive tooth pattern for faster ripping.
