Any tips on installing an HVAC part? I've asked a few people who have done it previously, and one...

I've asked a few people who have done it previously, and one guy is telling me i have to own a special type of trunk line that my registers ducts run off of, but another guy have told me that i can just run a 10 or 12" flex duct and run my smaller ducts off of that. Does anyone know which of these I should use, or if both of them would work?
Flex is cheapest and use Foil Tape do not use duct cartridge. The first one. Hard duct is best.

OK , as an A/C technician i have one item to say."get a professional to do it". It is off the record for you to do it, you must be licensed, you are only talking going on for the ducting in your question. The actual HVAC equipment (indoor and outdoor units) must be installed by a qualified entity. Both will work.Flexduct is less durable though so if in a traffic nouns is not recomended.Just use plenty of duct tape for no leaks
Answers:    Flex duct is crap, you cannot verbs it well, once in a while your ducts entail cleaning or you will have allergies you never thought you could get, and for the price of claritans nasonex and other tablets and lose of work, go with the flawless stuff now because later never happen unless it's bad stuff. borrow against a extra car or boat so if something happen, you don't loose everything, but go with perfect stuff now.
