Any direction on fitting a skylight?
Don't! I made a fortune reroofing around leak skylights.It may not leak when you first put it in but soon it will.
Not the sort of job you want to tackle unless you are super confident. I to hold made a lot of money making repairs when those who think they know what they are doing find out they didn,t. They are tricky no event what you think. Tradesmen have trouble near these so be careful. It is not the actual leak i.e. the problem when it occurs it is the damage to supporting structures that cost a fortune to repair. Follow the manufacturer's skylight installation instructions. Most far-reaching is to seal it well beside silicone to prevent water leakage.
Answers: Consider purchasing a tubular skylight, makes a smaller hole in the roof and is much easier to install than a standard skylight. The installation of the flashing at the roof is critical, pinch your time and follow the instructions.
