A apposite substitution for cotten wax strips??? So i have my homemade wax recipe and I'm set to make...

So i have my homemade wax recipe and I'm set to make my wax, and i also have the cotten/linen strips and wooden stick from my old store bought wax apparatus, but i left them at my friends house and cant bring back it right now... is nearby anything else I can use or make from around the house for the strips?? :[

Around the house, I doubt it. Do you have any manicure ginger sticks or if you are a sewer do you have any cotton muslin. If not, run over to the Wal-Mart and look at their cotton material and buy a 1/4 of a yard of the muslin (I imagine it's sometimes used in lining) and look right in attendance in the craft aisle for Popsicle sticks. You can step to a beauty supply place, but the strips are so expensive and they are more similar to a woven paper than material.
