Why does my paint still stick & come past its sell-by date the wall so effortlessly?? I painted 2 rooms about 6 months ago near latex wall...
I painted 2 rooms about 6 months ago near latex wall paint, I used primer first, but when I put a piece of furniture near the wall or droop something, the paint sticks to it and comes off the wall. What did I do wrong, and how can I avoid this occurring again -- I still have 4 more rooms to paint!
Answers: I enjoy read the other suggestions mentioned here before mine. I basically had this discussion next to my painter I have working for me very soon. He claims that you can use an oil base primer before using latex paints.
I would resembling to suggest that before you do any more sculpture, please go to the paint store that deal with paints just and ask for the right materials to use in sequence. I used a Kilz latex primer single after everything was wash free of smoke, oil cooking fumes surrounded by the home and then sand down to make sure the paint would stick.
Try going over the paint again merely for a touch up and leave everything away from the paint contained by order to try to dry efficently. Turn the furnace or AC component on to help draw out any moisture within the room. It could still be what we painters send for "green" which means it might perceive dry to the touch, but the under side of the paint subsequent to the walls is still wet and all the same therefore sticky and can crust. It needs to cure and set up for up to a week back any real results can be determined to help out the situation. Just keep it as dry and unuser friendly as possible and see what happen.
Best advise is step as an expert or ask for someone to come over to give a bid and ask question of how they would do it. It does not cost anything to get a bid and free insist on. Hope this helps out some. Good luck! Donna
Like the others said craft sure you use a waterbase primer and then a waterbase paint. You can't use grease and water together. What type of finish did you achieve? I would suggest getting satin or eggshell. If you got comment on sometimes the walls can seem sticky especially if you live within a high humidity setting. Next time you paint be paid sure to use at least mid trait paint, make sure in that is plenty of ventilation, and engineer sure it is not cold or humid. The primer I use is either 123 Products by Zinser or Kilz hose base.
