Preference and money. Most people enjoy furniture that was made years ago. Not everybody can afford to go buy modern furniture. I approaching a a bit of a combination:

The examples you show.. the "modern" is so cold and impersonal.
the "oldie" is warm and inviting.
It's adjectives about personal choice!
Answers: It is a matter of preference. I would truly prefer the "oldie" style as opposed to the modern.
