Answers: There are many types of sliders that can be purchased. Some are mounted for good to the bottom of the furniture. Others are temporarily placed beneath the corners, or under the foot of the furniture. Most work as advertised. See the links below.
If you are within a hurry to move a heavy raise objections you can use cardboard or some other flat, sturdy, but smooth surface. However, you'll have to kind a "road" to push the furniture over, or have one personage pull the cardboard while the other pushes the furniture. If the furniture is tall/heavy this can get it more problematic, but it is possible.
