When my parents were married, they bought some really nice sets of furniture. They be nice woods - solid cherry, mahogany, etc and handmade, I think contained by the USA for all of them. This sort of stuff: http://www.daviscabinetcompany.com/home2... (that be one of them. I've heard this company have overseas manufacturing immediately too, though :(

I love this stuff, but now it seem like the world is overrun near these big-box furniture stores... mass produced furniture from *somewhere* in the world, near plywood and particleboard and whatever else. It is frustrating.

Where can you buy fine furniture in this day and age? Especially made in America. I'd love links and even recommendation of particular lines. Right in a minute I'm looking for a bedroom suite, but would love to see anything that you think is the best of the best.

PS - I live surrounded by the Boston area (between Boston and New Hampshire) so if you enjoy actual store recommendations for my nouns, I would welcome those too!

Thank you!!
Answers:    I know what you tight. I like the fine-crafted wood but I've never have the money to really go to a high-end store. I did find a great 100% mahogany bed at Bombay Company which I'm tremendously happy beside and found some matching nightstands and chest-of-drawers at an antique store. Sometimes it's purely a matter of penetrating.

update - sorry, it looks like they file Chapter 11 in September 2007. It's too desperate since they had nice stuff.
You might try the Amana Furniture Store, Amana, Iowa....they will custom net furniture if you want....handmade.
