I'm gonna frame photos 8 x 10 inches and hang contained by my living room however I want the wall color to show 'through'. So the frame should be much larger than 8 x 10 so that the 'gutter' can be transparent...hence a matteless photo frame.

I also think you could use a range of other 'regular' frames as long as you back your representation with a pieces of plexiglass.
