Looking for something that is not gonna cost me an arm & a leg!
I looked online & everything is $250 & up for a standard 36"x60" pane or $20 sq. ft. which will still put me in the $200+ breadth.
Answers: C an you make some? Plans for making these may be available. do you want them inside or outside? I assume you want them inside impose you mentioned just 1 room. if this is the valise you can make a frame from pine ripped down to 1x2 AND Route out slat angles at 45', consequently just crawl in the slat holes and bonding agent them down and take hardware corners (ace have some nice brass cabinet door corners). I believe most lumber suppliers have something you can use for slats possibly you could use lathe its rough finish but can look great if your go for rustic.
The lone other way is to turn to homes that are for sale or someone else is decorate and doesn't need the shutters. Maybe put up a index card next to your phone number at the lumber yards and explain what you want and are predisposed to pay. Some one might enjoy shudders they've kept fore any number of reasons and presently no longer want them. A garage sale, or better however a lumber yard that deal in second or overstocks or returns would have better possibilitys.
