There are so many items that you can procure for a tiny fraction of the original department store cost--IF YOU ARE WILLING TO LOOK, and BE PATIENT.
I intuitively have found handsome art--prints and even paintings for a couple-$2.00 respectively. I recently purchased at a Thrift store surrounded by Chicago, near where on earth I live, 2 antique botanical prints-matted and framed in lovely ancient wood frames for $1.20 each.
I needed a Big coffee Urn for a jamboree and started looking for it a couple of months in advance-found a west bend 20 cup style for $2.49.
I almost other buy bath towels, mat, blankets even sheets that way for a couple of bucks. If you are discreet and don't mind looking through stuff, You can find all the items you mentioned surrounded by Like/nearly new condition. BE AWARE--YOU SHOULD THROUGHLY CLEAN THE STUFF YOU BUY!!!!
I HAVE BOUGHT PILLOWS, ETC AND RUN THEM IN THE DRYER WITH A SOFTENER SHEET ON EXTRA HOT FOR AN HOUR TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE CLEAN AND FRAGRANT.
There is not a patterned item, cookware, dishes, utensils, furniture, carpets, etc.-- that cannot be found Thrifting!!!!
Check out your local or regional phone book for Thrift, Goodwill-Salvation army(one of my Favorites).
I be in motion to Chicago regularly--They have Unique Thrifts store and Village Discount thrift stores which amendment merchandise weekly.
Can you tell I am a enthusiast Thrifter-- when I was immature like you is when I started, and hold loved the thrill of the hunt and the great bargins to be had. Good luck on your Apartment.
I'd enunciate check out the clearance aisles at walmart or target, sometimes you can find really cheap linens there.
