Answers: I work for Serv Pro fire and water resoration services and you stipulation to use an oil base primer. We usually use SF1 in the spray can from Sherwin Williams. You can paint over it after it dries and it will blend contained by with the rest of the ceiling that you enjoy already painted. I would wait 24 hours though. Doing it this track will prevent you from having to do time consuming, unneccessary work.
try using primer first
