I've got a bed which is pretty bulky and was thinking a London centric site might be best for selling it. I've never sold anything on eBay and don't want to dissipate money.
I agree with both the other answers, but just to join that if you really can't sell it try your local Freecycle group and someone might pick it from you for free, they won't give you any money for it, but at tiniest you will have got it stale your hands if all else fail. As an alternative to websites you could also consider putting an ad in your local quality newspaper or newsagents, and some supermarkets such as Somerfields have free message boards in their stores. Too be honest, you are most expected to get a buyer through ebay, they have the biggest share of users over the net for this sort of thing.

If you really dont want to pay the commision , why not try a social network site (e.g facebook) or something like gumtree, they are both free to advertise... polite luck
To make a website to supply bed in london you need a domain and webhosting. As an experienced webmaster I recommend purchase your domain and webhosting together. In this path it is possible to get your domain for free. Some webhosting companies offer this as a grant .

The best one is bluehost webhosting since they offer unlimited bandwidth and free domain with their webhosting bundle.I also like the fact that on every signup they make available you $100 credits to advertise your website with the google & yahoo go through engines for free.

I would recommend Gumtree. I once sold a desk by putting an ad in at hand. give it to the dosshouse

Sell your bed on MarketWall:
http://marketwall.com

MarketWall is free and you can sell the bed to somebody in London that can collect. Include a picture and you'll bring back more interested buyers.
Answers:    I would do EBay UK. List it as local pick-up only. Fees aren't expensive. Best/quickest way to carry rid of it. If you do not want to do that contact a local auction company and they will pick up sell etc.
