Porcelain is very durable and offers a slick surface for spills. However, the grout cleaning can be tiresome and it is much more expensive than every other flooring and professional installation is the most expensive of any other flooring. Cheapest and easiest risk would be vinyl..but vinyl is quite cheap-looking and not very comfortable to meander on. I highly recommend laminate if you can't afford tile. It's durable and cheaper than wood and porcelain. Your guys say porcelain tile ,you do not trust them and ask ,contained by this YAHOO ,do not thrust any body ask the contractor he can give you correct suggestion and with warranty .
