What's better than granite counter tops or what's the subsequent best entity? ...

Answers:    Granite is the best. It doesn't burn like Formica. It is extremely frozen (literally hard as a rock) and is stronger than engineered surfaces resembling Silestone. It doesn't have the problems of grout staining resembling tile. And, it has a unconscious beauty that can't be replicated. It's also the most expensive. But, it's one of the few things you can do when remodeling your home that give you a 100% return on investment.

And, in response to the guy who said quartz, granite and quartz own pretty much the same properties. Quartz stones hold a lot more dramatic pattern and colors. It's also generally abundantly more expensive than granite. I got a granite call Amber Fantasy for my kitchen that cost about $1700. An equivalent amount of quartz call Blue Luisa would have cost just about $8000.
We chose quartz over granite and marble. The stuff is like the 3rd hardest objects in the world, never wants sealing, does not hold your attention materials therefore no staining. We have a fairly serious kitchen fire over the summer. It destroyed the cabinet, oven, and microwave. The counter cleaned up fine and it still shines.
