What would hold up better contained by an earthquake single story wood building or a single story brick building? ...
Answers: A brick building is to rigid and would crack-up.
A wood building is more flexible and therefore could sway or flex for a time to take the quake.
A piece of wood will bend rather but you can't bend a brick.
