Answers:    I've single ever seen that form of connector used for loudspeakers. Not high power or soaring voltage.
I would think your kerosene lamp is a 12V halogen type, probably 20 watts or so. I'm guessing that somewhere around the lamp, the stub, cable, switch there should be a nouns saying "20W" "12V" or similar. The bulb would be around 0.7 inches long, 0.4 inches contained by diameter.
Please tell me I'm wrong, so that I can be startled for your safety.

If it be used in the UK, within would have be a transformer to drop the 230V AC down to 12V AC (possibly 24V).
If you tried to connect it to your 110V AC directly, it will kill it, and possibly yourself instantly. I hold a desk lamp close to that where the 2 arms that support the light above the weighted base are also the 2 conductors. Since its just 12v its reasonably sheltered. If you had 110V on it, its noxious.

If you can find a local transformer, you could fit a different plug or make up an adapter. Radio shack would enjoy mating sockets, I would expect.
Sorry thought it was a banter lol.
