My husband and I are trying to narrow down what types of homes/interiors we like and while I can describe it, I can't put a label to it. Is there a name for this type of style?
Lots of white built-in bookcases and shelves along one wall, sometimes next to glass front doors, clean simple fire place w/ white mantle, white molding, hardwood flooring. I want to articulate beachy but not so casual. Sometimes I've seen wanescotting (sp?). Sorry I can't describe it better. I see it within my head and its beautiful, purely don't know what to look up to show my husband what I'm thinking.

Go to the library and find some books and magazines. Look at them there and bring home the ones that are best. I'd vote to go to model homes too but I know I'd have to find it first and them bring my husband to see it. Good luck! What you are describing sounds similar to the start toward a very cottagey style. Pick up a few home interiors magazines. The cottage look have been around for awhile and is a popular one.
