I hired a handyman (found on craigslist.org) to pick up and deliver a settee (small little loveseat) from a consignment shop about 40 minutes away.
He come back beside the settee stating that it had fall off his truck and have, as a result, 8 holes in it. He took the arm covers and be going to look for an upholsterer to patch it. I called around and every upholsterer said it wouldn't look fitting patched up and that it would be best to have it reupholstered.
This guy have some of my furniture (a little table) that he's staining, but he hasn't kept in touch or returned my call. I've only talk to his mother on the phone. I'm thinking that he wants to draw from out of his responsibility to have the loveseat repaired or make available me the money ($310) that I paid for it.
What should I do?
i would appropriate him to small claimes court or call the police on him.that will catch his attention.
I would send for him a few more times. Leave him a message on his answering machine or near his mother that you will wait until X date to hear from him. If you don't take a word from him by X date..then you will report at small claims court.
if you know his address...send him a message stating that also. Keep a copy of the letter and own it sent so he has to sign to capture it.
good luck
