i live in New Jersey and its cold o ver her approaching 30-35*F and i have asthma; i want to stain wood for my childrens play room. i own the dogs cage surrounded by there (curly coat retriever) and in that used to be carpet a coupls months ago afterwards i removed it. the floor where the round up was used to draw from wet near the carpet here and my dog would spill the water. what is that black stuff call that is produced from the umidity from dampen on wood. but my main interview is that i have asthma and its cold contained by my house and i need to satin my easier said than done wood floors, so what chemicals are recomended for the food. like stain and sealer. also risk-free for my dog and that wont harm me . also i hear if u put an onin in the room. but u first cut the tip that the smell is gripped by onibn. of course a couple surrounded by the room. so what cemicak or stain or whatever sohuld i use. ????????
Answers:    This is the best I could do for you. Try doing a flush for how to refinish floors. Water and wood do not go together. Maybe you could put a clear plastic mat (like they use underneath desk chairs) under the crate to hold on to the water sour the wood. Anything in vinyl will incentive a reaction next to the wood.

You will need to sand the floors to remove the hose down damage or replace the boards. Do you own any wood left that would meeting up? You could try taking up a sample to contest it, but if you can't match it, you are moved out with replacing the floor.

Call within some re-finishers for pricing and pick their brains so that you can do it yourself.

Look at the products at home depot for a low VOC stain.

the black stuff is mold stain but it's inactive and not a problem.....(if you stain the floors maroon/dark red, the stains turns totally black and blends near the dark red really well). Use an oil-based stain of your choice, you can buy .36 cent sample from Lowes and test if u want. Apply the stain beside a big brush but only a portion at a time. After about 15 min, wipe ALL the stain past its sell-by date that you possibly can. Any residue left on top will prevent the sealer from sticking to the wood. After the undamaged room is done, let it cure for a afternoon and then apply a WATER-BASED SEALER near a new brush. It's comfortable on your lungs as there are NO FUMES at adjectives. I like this brand:

I get mine at Lowes. Apply 3 coats maybe 4 at most.
