Certainly its not from an animal named Guido. What is the difference between regular leather & Italian leather?
Answers: Italian leather have become a confusing term. Generally italian leather be regarded as the best within the world but this is the explanation:
Tanning was a particularly filthy business and when health and sanctuary laws and pollution law came into affect profusely of the tanneries throughout the world closed down. Italy decided to bear on the tanning industry for the world and hides are presently shipped in from everywhere. Some countries produce better hide than others ie. Sweden, Switzerland, etc. where cows are looked after better and the climate is more balmy. Hides are not leather until they have be tanned that`s why once they have be tanned surrounded by Italy they are called Italian leather. They in truth produce some of the best leather and some of the worst depending on where the hide are produced.
To confuse things even more some Italian tanneries and manufacturer are moving the businesses to China but as they are an Italian company they still call it Italian leather because it have more selling power than Chaniese leather!!
Hope this helps
