We have a 1970's brick home that have white, brown, red & black spots in it. I close to it & from the road it just looks suntan to me but my husband thinks its dreadful & wants to paint it. I dont construe that we should paint it...Has anybody ever painted brick before? What do yall devise that we should do? Thanks so much! :)
Answers: I own construction/remodeling company and from my experiance I would say "don't do it". After you do it might look ok but it will start coming past its sell-by date and you will have to enjoy it repainted. Especially it you paint it much different color for example if ou have shadows brick and paint it lighter color as soon as some of the paint start coming it will be visable. Also in copious situations when selling house new ancestors have problem next to painted brick.
I hope that helps . Good luck
Personally I close to the natural look of brick. I chew over painting over brick would be resembling painting over a fine crumb wood!!
