hello everyone need some help , im not sure other next the clip curtains from years past(they dont sell anymore) what other kind of curtain rods can i use to hang up heavy pleated curtains? do you know a specific way to be exact able to be boughten now? any facilitate is appreciated, thank-you
Answers: This is how I hang heavy pleated draperies:
Go to Bed, Bath & Beyond (I'm assuming you live contained by the States), and ask for "heavy duty drapery pins". They come in small packages, 14 pins to a packet, and are small metal hooks with a sharp point on one side. Insert one pin on the back of respectively pleat on your draperies.
While at Bed, Bath, and Beyond, purchase a wooden drapery rod in a color that will coordinate with your room. They come contained by a light brown, a dark brown, and black, and they come surrounded by 6-foot lengths, and 8-foot lengths. If you call for longer than that, you can buy connectors to connect two or more rods.
You will also need to purchase the coordinating wood drapery rings. These come with clips, which you will want to remove. Once you've removed the clips, you're disappeared with the wooden ring with a tiny metal eyehook screwed into it.
Hang your rod, using the coordinating brackets from Bed, Bath & Beyond, and slide the rings onto the rod. Then, insert the drapery pins on the final of your draperies through the metal eyehooks on the drapery rings. And voila! You have pleated draperies hung on a decorator rod.
Your finished product will look like the draperies surrounded by this room:

any help appreciated...good. There is no such word as 'boughten'.doesn't exist.
Go to almost any household commodities store-Walmart, Home Depot, Aubuchon Hardware...and get the pleated curtain pins! Made for them...don't know why you think they aren't-my wife buys them almost everytime she wash the pleated curtains in the house-because she loses them.
But unless you can find the larger pins with the (O) shape instead of the 'hook' shape, you hold to use the rectangular curtain 'bar' instead of a 'rod'.
Best bet is to find a local 'curtain and window treatment' center-I know around Boston one chain alone advertise 16 outlets, so any major population area will own one-and ask them if they have the 'rod' pins and rods if you don't want the metal 'bars'. I hate the bars-when I try to serve her put the curtains up I usually end up pulling a couple of the cheesy little mounting clips right off the wall.
