Answers: Anything that comes to mind. For spring, wildflowers with some squally baby's breath. Here it grows all over the place. For summer, you could use the pitcher with fresh herb (like chive flowers) as a table centerpiece. For fall, an interesting twig or set of twigs next to or without herb is always interesting. Or, if the pitcher itself is interesting, just bestow it empty. I've made an unusual centerpiece for a ladie's luncheon out of clear cup small and medium vase on a tiered cake tray. In the spring sun, beautiful! Use your imagination and enjoy fun!
Put some tall flowers or branches (that are fake) contained by the vase. It'll sort it look really modern.
