I am going to make some curtains for my daughter's room. The room is quite small. I want to put together it appear larger. Any ideas?
Go to the ceiling near the curtains and to the floor. If you cannot go to the ceiling for whatever purpose mount the curtains at least 4 inches above the window. To variety the window look larger make the curtains wider on respectively side. I would do straight panels. Look at the below examples for inspiration. I'm not a pro younglady...but anytime you can show as much light thru the glass as possible and extend the length of the curtain rods and curtain details horizontally as far as you can.I think you would look the longest and best. Just remember..horizontal lines on a house put together it look long and low..vertical make it look tall and slim.enjoy fun, hope it helps.
Make drapes that cover the entire pane and go from the ceiling to the floor, not only will this manufacture the room feel taller but the width contained by comparison to the length make the window look small contained by comparison to the room, therefore making the room bigger. In addition allow like mad of light in by getting a yard goods that is light, semi-see through and if at all possible a pastel color or off white; dark colors brand name it look smaller because they absorb more light instead of reflecting it. If at adjectives possible do just a valance, and raise the curtain rod to freshly a few inches lower than the ceiling. This will give more light within the room and will bring the outside in, therefore creating the mirage of more space. If the walls are painted a solid color, it would not be a bad idea to hold the curtains be the same color. It will be a continuous flow this way. Whatever you do, don't choose a bleak color for the curtains. If you need it to be dark within her room, get a room darkening shade.
you need see thru lace , white or cream , that will lighty blow when the window , open , let contained by tons of light ...
and look and feel biggar

surrounded by a smaller room its best to use lighter colors... is allways reflects more light wager on
if the room has lighter colors within it (like pink) use a darker curtian,
and visa-versa
use a light substance (like a nice overlay for dresses)
the carwash curtains are nice too
be sure it's long, (i think a white or black strip of it is nice!)
Answers:    simple curtains, but you must keep the cloth sheer, so that it permits light to come through. There are handsome colors and prints available. You can use a roll down shade, or blinds behind them for privacy at night if you will. If you decide to make the curtains long, a individual idea is to buy a couple of old, or foreign brooches (yes, jewelry), and pin them back open beside the brooches instead of using plain old boring tie-backs. It's even better if the brooches don't match- just hold on to them the same size. I made curtains such as these for my daughter's small bedroom and I've received nothing but complements!
If you hang the curtain at least a foot above the actual fanlight it makes the window and the ceiling appear superior...light colors on the walls will help the room look bigger! Full length straight curtains are the best. The things should be light and airy. Nothing dark and calorific, because that will make it appear like a dull box. Good luck with your curtains!
