With slate and neutral blue you need something to thaw out it up I would suggest a pale peach colour..
If your male its usually menacing colours. I don't know why you lot go for see boring shades.
Blue is kinda cold for a bathroom so not that, but you could use different shades of blue, or have a blue ceiling, and that leaves individual the walls again.
