I want something calm and soothing. Our bathroom, upstairs hallway and living room are all blue, so I don't want blue. Our kitchen is suntan, so I don't want that either. White would be too bright and show dirt too slickly, black would be too dark, washed out would be anything but soothing and calm. My husband doesn't want anything "girly" close to pink or purple. I don't know what colors are left?
Answers: how just about something from the Red pallette?
You can select any tint, tone or shade from Red -- I personally LOVE red contained by a bedroom because it's quite luxurious, cosy and it's a flawless colour for reflecting light positively on the obverse!
With a red you can avoid girly pink but select a red tone or shade that is gaping and positively sumptuous! How about something from the scarlet (blood reds?) burgundy? It might appear gloomy but get your ceiling colour right (not a bright white) and your lighting virtuous and you may find it works well.
Coupled beside that, because your hall and living areas are blue, red will complement the mission you already have (since it's factor of the triadic colour scheme on the colour wheel). Yellows are rock-hard to get right, I try to avoid those; black isnt great surrounded by the bedroom; white isn't great - hard on the eyes adn a bit too stark for a room explicitly supposed to be restful.
Get some sample pots and hold a play in your bedroom near them. Paint colour is best viewed contained by natural pallid.
All the best.
A gray, sage green, a very fair-haired yellow would be nice and it is a soothing color if its not too bright. You could also run with a insubstantial salmon or coral color.
