What color should my wall shelving?

I have a suntan bedroom with white trim. Furniture is an antiqued wood. Should the shelves be white, black, or an antiqued wood (which would be difficult to match)? Picture frames are black.
Is this a fire code issue?

WHITE will cause the shelves stand out (but not so much that it's 'loud'), but it will make the room appear airier, more fresh. It will match beside the white trim, also.

BLACK will stand out, but it will probably be a focal point in the suntan coloured room. It gives the room more volume. Black is a nice choice as it compliments the picture frames.

ANTIQUED WOOD will, surrounded by turn, blend in near the room, making everything cozier, smoother. It will definitely contest with the furnitures within the room.

If I were to choose a colour, I would budge with white. It's nice and subtle. A classic colour you'll never get hold of tired of. Since your room is already very antique-y, count more antiqued wood will be too much. Black is nice, but ..not nice enough.
