I'm painting the floors within several rooms of my house (a variety of colors). Should the thresholds be painted to match the rooms they organize into, or the rooms they lead out of?

i'd either pick the color of the room they are contained by (like if it's a bedroom leading to the hallway, paint it the bedroom's color) or pick a nice complimentary color that enhance both. interesting idea. never seen painted floors since. good luck! Answers: IDEALLY, THEY SHOULD BE NEUTRAL; BUT IF YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE LEAN TOWARD THE ROOMS THEY LEAD OUT OF; WHEN THE DOORS TO THE ROOMS ARE CLOSED, THE PUBLIC SPACE BECOMES THE EXTERIOR. WHEN YOU ARE IN THE ROOM WITH THE DOOR CLOSED, THE COLOR OF THE ROOM PREDOMINATES INSIDE. OUTSIDE, THE HALL OR FOYER FLOORING DOMINATES, LEADING YOU TO LOOK AT THE THRESHHOLD. HOPE THIS HELPS
The rooms they lead out of. i recon head out of as long as the colours dont clash or you could paint them a complenting or nutral colour
painting floors is not a honourable idea...staining, carpets, tile.these jump on floors.it is scary to think give or take a few painted floors. they would not wear at all, think walking on walls. Close the door and paint them alike color as the room they are in.
I voice don't paint them at all. We painted our thresholds and the paint started peeling. wispy blue
light gold/yellow
white
any of those would look good. :}
i think you should paint it to in different color.. a dark tone of the wall not the floor.. to have unity.. they should contest the room the hinges are in
