What color pane treatments? I am moving into a new office at work and it have...
I am moving into a new office at work and it have a very challenging layout beside windows taking up two walls. I can't paint and there is merely one small space to hang artwork so I thought I would add some fanlight scarfs to give the office some color. At home I hold a merlot window scarf which I really like, but this does not come across appropriate for an office. Any suggestions?
You would want to use light and airy calm colors close to powder blue, light pink or lilac, even some pale yellows.
As long as the porthole treatment is not too frou-frou, a plain scarf might be okay for an office. I'd keep it simple - no lace, ruffles, sheers, formal fabric, rosettes, etc. I wouldn't "swag" it too much - just try to keep the lines simple and tailored. The merlot color sounds fine for an bureau, but it would depend on the fabric as to whether it would work well contained by a business setting.
Do you have floor space to add plants or trees? They could be existing or silks, and the greenery would add color, texture, and layers to the space.
Since in that is only a small space for art work, I'd choose something eye-catching and tasteful. I'm thinking a colorful abstract that is attractive but not too "over the top", but that's my savour. You may like something else.
I'm sure you can make it deeply pleasant and attractive.
Answers: Maybe a soothing shade of green or blue or lilac. Reds and oranges tend to stimulate appetite (that's why most fast food places use that color scheme).
