What color for the Hunter Douglas cellular shades? I have totally suntan wall color (from sherwin williams paint) and white...
I have totally suntan wall color (from sherwin williams paint) and white trim. My furniture is mostly burgundy and black. Is it best that the window treatment be close to duplicate color as the wall or should it be with the white trim?
I own hardwood floors and it is a contemporary room.
Answers: I am going to go against the crumb and suggest that you go near white to go next to the window trim. Although I other tell folks to have pane treatments close tho wall colour I am usually referring to fabric curtains, drapes, romans etc. Cellular shades are somewhat more of a permanent fixture and if you tuning the decor in the room, the trim and blinds will other remain white and won't have to move every time you change the wall colour. (this is what curtains are for)
Secondly, if the blinds are a different colour than the trim, you are drawing attention to a big white square that outlines the pane (trim) and I feel this can receive a space look too busy.
Not sure if I got my points across clearly....?
here are two separate examples...can you see the difference?

Blinds are as a rule as close a match to your wall color as possible. This allows you to bring within stronger colors for drapes or valances that tie in beside the furniture, accessories, etc.
