i am remodeling my shower. i have cement sponsor board up now, but i really dont want tile, i would similar to to use some sort of wood like wicker or other type. i do not want it to get ruined from the moisture and soaps. does anyone know what i can use and can i apply it directly to the cement or do i enjoy to put on some waterproof membrane first
Rosewood but it is massively expensive.. but sturdy .. you can find it in the Orient... and conceivably some locations here in the USA

Any wood that gets exposed to hose down on a regular basis will be huge keeping issue. Mold & mildew will grow. Tile or Marble are your best bets for low maintenance.

If you still want wood, you'll entail to install a vapor barrier prior to installing wood. I guess Teak, Rosewood, & Mahogany would work. These are used for boats & outdoor furniture. These are a bit on the pricey side. Ensure that you rear prime or seal the back of the wood before installing.

Good Luck
Answers:    Wood is not a honourable idea.unless it's soaring enough that splatters won't manage it. You can go next to a wood look.
