my boyfriend lets his dog do her business on the pay for deck, and when we get married and buy our own house sometime I don't want his dog to do the same item there...first because it's not sanitary and I would resembling to be able to hike on the back deck minus smelling it or seeing stains. She used to use the restroom in the backyard but for tons reasons she can't use it subsidise there anymore. He's mostly gone at work the complete day and keep her back on the porch so she doesn't "go" within the house. Either way, I don't ever want a dog to use the restroom on the final deck even if he does sweep off the poop and whatnot. The dog is really small so she doesn't engender a huge mess BUT STILL.....
Can she break this habit of using the restroom on the final deck once we get our unmarked house?
Is there a finish or some coating you can put on the wood that repels animal pee/poop? I don't want our adjectives back deck to be ruined by the dog. Thanks
Wow.......You can;t teach an mature dog new tricks.......and I don't know of anything that would save the pee from eating into the wood and staining it permantly.....Best to try pee pad now and gewt it used to them or help yourself to her for a walk 3 times a year..a folded news weekly does wonders for teaching them NOT TO DO it lasting places......Good Luck....God Bless.....
thompson's water trademark on current deck.
When you move just maintain picking up poo and moving it to the area where on earth you want her to go. Show her where on earth you moved it to and reward her when she goes to that nouns to check things out. Leave poo there (not forever but for a while) until she automatically go to "her spot".
Answers: There's Marine Varnish, that would work very well. But it is very expensive. It repels everything. Something more affordable would be Thompson's Deck Sealer, or a similar sealer. The Lowe's and Home Depots hold them. You should apply it a couple times a year though. It wears sour over some months. All these products are transparent.
