What can I use to cover my furniture to protect it from my dog? My dog will not stay off the furniture. It doesn't bother me...

My dog will not stay off the furniture. It doesn't bother me so much that she lays on it. It bothers me when she comes inside covered within mud and decides to turn my living room into a doggy barrier course.

I can't find slipcovers anywhere that will fit my furniture and are relatively cheap. I need a cheap(er) solution. I can't sew, so making slipcovers myself are out of the put somebody through the mill. Can anyone help me ?!?!?
Answers:    Its much cheaper to retrain dog.. mine did this and I used a squirt bottle near water and give her the command to get down. if she did she get a small treat , if she didn't she got sprayed and put outside for a minute . It takes a few weeks, but if you stick to it should get a difference. 2nd. solution is wal-mart or k-mart for universal covers.. Good luck
i have the same problem. i enjoy a weimaraner that would sneak on behind our vertebrae. i put a motion sensor on the couch that beeped really loud every time the couch moved. it's something like the size of a cell phone, found at pet stores. i would not keep it on within constantly, only when i be doing something else. he learned that whenever he hear that beep, he be going to get surrounded by trouble (pavlov would be proud). pretty soon he avoided the couch all together. we didn't do it for ourselves, we did it for our friends who would come over and sit on our curls covered, smelly dog couch. dogs are smarter than we think, and they know what they can and can't achieve away with. be firm.
