I'm about to buy a different house and I want to be sure I get adjectives the right options/upgrades that will later relief sell the home.
I already get one pre-wire for plasma on the 1st floor living room but I'm debating if I should also get one contained by the den upstairs AND/OR the master bedroom.
If you were a buyer, would that be something that you would see as a benefit? If so, why? I never have a house with a pre-wire for plasma. I'm not even sure what the TRUE benefits are besides no wires showing.
Answers: I't is always a polite Idea to pre-wire for future use, if it is something you know your going to use. Pre-wiring for adjectives use also helps within selling your home. I'ts is always polite to pre-wire something you think your going to use, because taring out drywall is alot more costly once the house is finished than it would be to basically do it during the rough-in.
I have to assume you are wall mounting a display, be it plasma or some other display technology. The benefit is that the other devices resembling your DVD cable/sat box will not be sitting on the floor in front of the TV. You enjoy to plan where these devices will sit, any in a cabinet or a closet just round the corner. if you go beside the closet (probably the best for a high extension prewire) you will need some big-hearted of infrared repeater system. even the cabinet can benifit from that. wherever you ecide to put the devices, you should run conduit, probably not bother near the actual wires themselves. (unless prewiring for surround or whole house audio) and when I read aloud conduit, I dont mean measly smurf tubes, but 3 inch PVC.
One other article, if you are going to mount a truelly massive display you will need to enjoy crossbracing between studs or go to 8 inch studs beside sisters.
