I am moving out soon but while i am still living at home i am buying the stuff i need for my up to date house now. So far i enjoy bought cups, vacuum cleaner, and a TV stand. I already have a bed, couch, and desk.
There is closely that you will need.

pots, pan, potholders, silverware, plates, bowls, etc.
All kinds of kitchen stuff. Coffee architect, Toaster, Blender, etc.

You will probably need lamp, towels, linens, etc.

You don't have to buy everything at once obviously. How much cooking do you plan to do at home?

You will probably need curtains, shower curtain, etc.
Besides your big-ticket items.furniture, window coverings if buying exotic construction, kitchen utensils, cookware, etc...there are greatly of "little things" you will continue to run subsidise to the store for in your first few weeks on your own.

Cleaning supplies (buckets, mop, rag, broom) toilet paper, toilet plunger, daily towels, condiments (salt/pepper, ketchup, etc.) The list will travel on and on, but most of it will be smaller, less expensive items.

It's best if you are planning to pick up those little things as you see them on Dutch auction somewhere, and concentrate on watching sales on your more expensive items. You don't want to own to go buy a integral set of dishes and a couch and other more expensive stuff all at once!

Good luck!
