my question is whether you can only just buy a water bed mattress and put it on a bed that usually have a regular mattress. also what is a good dampen bed and do they usually end up leak

You do need a special frame and a liner for a river bed. I've never had one filter, but I understand my experience is extremely unusual.
I haven;'t had one lately so I don't know what a good brand is.
No you cant or it would spread out and hang up over the sides. it needs to be within a special frame that supports the bag. and they dont usually expiration up leaking unless you are incredibly rough and conventional "wear and tear" doesn't pop it. they are comfy enough. and i dont really know of brands though sorry.
