A cheap patio can be built beside 2x4s and wood slats, like fencing slats. You afterwards basically put together a structure approaching a pallet. Or, if you have access to them, of late use pallets all set subsequent to each other. Then set a piece of indoor/outdoor runner (like astroturf) on top. For a cover, get a flea market umbrella or two (like 11 feet within diameter).
I wouldn't suggest spending any money at all on it, if it's a rental. Plus, your innkeeper might not want you to.
