above a fireplace, the only problem is and its a principal problem is that their are no support beams aft the wall, i have no thought why, the wall is about 4 and a partially feet yawning and about 5 and a partly feet illustrious from the mantle to the ceiling, all to be exact their is the drywall, its the only place i can put the tv because of the room setup, i know at the corners or the wall their are some type of studs wether they are wood studs or the metal framing, i know its possible to seize this done but want to know the most effective and safest opening to mount this tv on the wall without have to worry almost it coming down, i could post some kind of picture so you know what the wall looks approaching if need be but hopefully i explained honourable enough, any and adjectives information will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks in finance!
Answers:    Their is framing around fireplaces, it just have minimum distances that must be met to avoid catching fire from the heat created by the fireplace.

Your best bet would be to turn purchase a piece of "A" faced plywood, attach it to the dry wall next to good metal molly sinks, beside one end on the plywood resting on the mantel, paint, stain or finish to contest the wall, then mount your TV to the Plywood. The crest on the mantel will carry the shipment of the TV. The molly sinks in the dry wall will hold the plywood adjectives.

Just be sure to use metal molly sinks that expand behind the dry wall. The cheap plastic molly sinks will verbs right out and let your TV leak forward onto the floor.
How about placing the t.v on a lcd stand on the mantel?
